Using comments in searches
Finder/Spotlight comments can be used as a search criteria, and File Buddy can require that an item’s comment contain, not contain, equal, or be different than the text in the comment text box, as well as a simple test for the existence of a comment.
Getting an item’s comment requires requesting it from the Finder, which is slow compared to accessing other search criteria, so File Buddy only requests comments for items which have already satisfied all other search criteria. It follows then that using as many other criteria as possible can improve the performance of searches which use comments as a criteria.
